Bio
From a humble $50 check to over 80 million views on YouTube, director Dale Keano found a unique balance between making music and empowering artists. His success comes from a mix of passion for music, the ability to bring a vision to life, and a strong entrepreneurial drive.
Growing up in the Bay Area, Dale was surrounded by music. He spent time in his dad’s recording studio and often sang for his classmates at the school bus stop. It didn’t take long for Dale’s love for music to take root. Like many Asian-American children to immigrant parents, he studied pre-med at UC Davis to make his parents proud, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing.
One day, Dale took a leap of faith. He invested all his savings into a new venture—Burgundy Suite, a full media studio focused on helping artists succeed. He didn’t just make music videos; he became involved in every part of the process, from recording albums to planning releases - earning him a reputation for turning big ideas into high-quality productions in the Asian American music community.
Since then, Dale has collaborated with renowned artists like Heartbreaka, Stupid Young, Ruby Ibarra, Yung Jae, and Dub P. His work has not only garnered millions of views but has also played a pivotal role in launching artists to new heights—getting them featured on New York Times Square billboards, building their brands to the point where they now tour the world, and empowering them to make a sustainable living through their music.
Often invited to speak at schools and universities, Dale is passionate about guiding students on their own paths to success. When asked about his mantra, he shares this powerful belief: "Take care of our Asian American brothers and sisters—they deserve visuals as stunning and impactful as those in the mainstream." For Dale, this is more than a mantra; it’s a calling. By uplifting these artists, he helps them stand strong, showing the world the talent and potential within the Asian American community.
Dale is now stepping into the spotlight in a new way. He is releasing his own music—songs that never bloomed but he’s always believed in. It’s his time to share his voice with the world, not just behind the camera, but as an artist in his own right.
